Semarang City Govt Prevents Fictitious RT

MATASEMARANG.COM – Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng is taking measures to prevent the possibility of fictitious neighborhood unit (RT) ahead of the distribution of Rp25 million in annual operational funds.

She stated that, so far, every RT has undergone institutional verification. Moreover, if there are any updates regarding an RT, the community unit (RW) will be the first institution to confirm whether the RT exists or is fictitious.

“Every RT is verified. If there are updates, the RW will determine whether the RT exists or not. Then, it goes up to the village head, sub-district head, and finally the city government. After that, document verification is conducted,” said Agustina on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

In addition to document verification, Agustina mentioned that since every RT head currently receives an honorarium, the verification process can also use existing data related to the disbursement of these payments.

Furthermore, the verification of RT institutions can also be carried out by Bank Jateng.

Because, for the disbursement of operational funds, each RT institution is required to open a new Bank Jateng account under the head RTs’ name.

“Bank Jateng can also verify whether an RT truly exists since the disbursement of the RT head’s honorarium and operational funds must go to separate accounts,” she explained.

Anticipating Potential Conflicts

However, the city government is also anticipating potential conflicts within RTs or RWs.

“I am requesting support from the prosecutor’s office and the police to form a team at the sub-district level. If there are reports filed with the police, they can first be resolved at a desk involving prosecutors and police personnel,” she said.

“If there are criminal elements, the desk will recommend further action to the police or prosecutor’s office. But if here are no criminal aspects, the case should stop here,” she concluded.
