MATASEMARANG.COM – A fire occurred in the lecturer’s room, Building D, Floor 1, Faculty of Health, Dian Nuswantoro University on Sunday 27 July 2025 evening.
It started around 21:20 WIB and was put out at 23:22 WIB after the Semarang City Fire Department arrived at the scene.
The head of the Central Semarang Police, Commissioner I Putu Agus Indra Permana stated that no one was hurt in the incident.
The police are still working to figure out how much damage was done.
They acted fast at the scene by calling the fire department and PLN to turn off the electricity network around the fire location.
They also gathered information from people who saw what happened.
“Campus security officers on duty during the night noticed thick smoke coming from Building D. Following an initial assessment by the witnesses, it was decided to quickly call the fire department because the smoke inside the building was very dense,” stated I Putu Agus Indra Permana.
Two security officers who were on duty as witnesses, Imam Ashari (33) and Thauhid (52), immediately reported the situation and evacuated themselves while waiting for assistance.
Two fire trucks from the Semarang City Fire Department were sent to the scene and successfully brought the fire under control within two hours.
“Right now, we are still conducting thorough investigations to determine the exact cause of the fire,” said I Putu Agus.
