Chinese Firm Commits USD 65 Million Investment in Central Java

MATASEMARANG.COM – Chinese conglomerate Wanxinda Group has announced its commitment to invest Rp1 trillion (approximately USD 65 million) in the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate (KITB), strengthening economic ties between Indonesia and China.

Khairul Mahalli, a representative of Wanxinda Group stated that the company plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Central Java as part of its broader strategy to expand into Southeast Asia.

“Wanxinda Group intends to bring up to 700 projects to Indonesia, including investments in KITB. These will span five key sectors: electric vehicles, cosmetics, fashion, healthcare, and electronics,” Mahalli explained.

Government Welcomes Investment

The announcement was warmly received by Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen who emphasized the strategic role of KIT Batang in attracting global investors.

“We hope Wanxinda Group’s presence will boost the regional economy, create significant job opportunities, and enhance Central Java’s export capacity,” Yasin said during the official statement.

According to data from the Central Java Investment and One-Stop Services Agency (DPMPTSP), the province recorded Rp66.13 trillion in realized investment between January and September 2025, achieving 84.42 percent of its annual target.

This investment surge has also translated into substantial employment, with 326,462 jobs created, making Central Java the second-highest contributor to workforce absorption in Java.
